Lewis Hamilton discusses safety and the environment with Bridgestone
Just four days before the final race of the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Lewis Hamilton took time out of his busy schedule to participate in a Bridgestone press conference, at the Shangri La Hotel, Abu Dhabi, commending the company’s Formula One success and commitment to tyre safety and the environment.
Bridgestone invited Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton to the event to join with Mr. Takumi Kakara, Bridgestone Middle East & Africa Marketing Director, and Mr. Hirohide Hamashima, Director of Bridgestone Motorsport Tyre Development, to reaffirm Bridgestone’s Formula One success and its future mission towards safety and the environment.
10 years using Bridgestone tyres
During the conference, Lewis Hamilton reminisced about his 10 years of experience using Bridgestone tyres and how it has helped his performance on the track.
“Bridgestone has added a great deal of value to the drivers of Formula One with their commitment as the sole tyre supplier, and the advanced technology used in the design of both the wet and dry tyres has made drivers more confident in circuit grip and manageability and performance on the different tracks. We do not want to see Bridgestone leave Formula One, but we commend them for their consumer commitment and dedication in ‘Tyres Safety’ and the Environment”, said Lewis Hamilton, Formula One driver for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes Team.
Bridgestone is commited to safety and the environment
Hamilton also wrote in Arabic the words “Safety” and “Environment” as a personal message to the region for Bridgestone’s global commitment to the community.
Although Bridgestone bids farewell to the FIA Formula One World Championship at the end of this season, there is certainly no goodbyes to the continuous contribution that Bridgestone will make to the safety and green concerns of its consumer, utilising the technological advancements the company has learnt on track.
